Borrello, the picture for Capri
For the opening of the famous Krupp Street
L’Arena 24-08-2008
"The island of Capri is the heart since my neapoletan childhood and always, when we come back, I feel great emotions and new suggesions to warn my pictorial expression". So says Pippo Borrello, transplanted from many years in Verona and that certainly bears in figure featuring his painting alongside other suggestions comes from long cultural and existential itinerary, the memory of the warm colors of the South and those of mazes that drawing lines in the arse of the Islands and rocks in the Sea Blue delirium.
In Capri, where already in the past held important personal, Borrello is back for a unique occasion for which claims to be "particularly fortunate and honored".
It deals with this: in the island the famous Krupp Street - the path dug in the rock that conducts from the Gardens of August to the sea with steep returning that offer fascinating sights on the Faraglioni and on Marina Piccola - it was closed for thirty-three years; now the Municipality has been able to reopen it and has made to coincide the inauguration of the restored path with the party for the view on Capri of the President Giorgio Napolitano.
In the large table of Borrello (100 x 150 cm) are crystalline transparency and color of solar brightness white rugged rocks and hairpin bends that you produce a surreal rocketed geometry. The variegated green of the vegetation, the blue of the sea they seem driven by silvery scales.
It's really admirable suppleness expressive of this painter who, like the artists of yore, combines without discord the opportunity offered by clients with the need for a personal style, with the unmistakable seal of light, a line, a color accrued as entries of the soul.
